The limited-edition Maybach S-Class was designed in collaboration with the late legendary fashion designer and is limited to just 150 units.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its latest car in collaboration with legendary fashion designer, the late Virgil Abloh – a limited-edition Maybach S-class. Limited to just 150 units, the Maybach Limited Edition is based on the fully-equipped S 680 and features an exterior paint finish last seen on the Concept of the Maybach project from the end of last year. The cabin also receives trim and accents consistent with the exterior color scheme as well as unique graphics for the MBUX system. The limited edition Maybach was signed by the fashion designer in 2021 before his untimely demise.
Speaking about the project, Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said: “I am incredibly proud of the work we have created together with Virgil. From the Geländewagen project, which set the benchmark for fashion/automotive collaborations with our iconic G-Class, to the MAYBACH project which propelled Mercedes-Maybach’s distinguished heritage into the future, with Virgil, we have truly innovated. Virgil Abloh’s limited edition Maybach exemplifies the symbiosis between innovative design and ultimate craftsmanship now available on the road.
Starting from the outside, the Maybach S 680 is inspired by last year’s Maybach concept developed jointly with Abloh. The limited edition S 680 comes in a two-tone paint scheme with the lower half – including the unique forged alloy wheels – finished in a sand color with the pillars, bonnet, roof and boot lid finished in black .
Inside, the cabin also continues the black and sand color scheme with heavy use of Napa leather on the dash, steering, doors and seats. The cabin also features special Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logos on the dashboard, headrests and rear seat cushions. The limited edition S680 also gets a unique interface for the MBUX system with unique design touches to the interface.
