Mufaro Prasé Tinago

Fashion designer and model Mufaro Prase Tinago will soon host a talent show, Unique Talent Zimbabwe which seeks to unearth untapped talent in music, dance and poetry.

Talk to NewsDay Life & StyleTinago said the idea behind the talent show was to help young people refrain from engaging in anti-social behavior such as drug addiction and prostitution.

“On Unique Talent Zimbabwe I will be working with radio personality Miss Unique and actor Zolile “Tsotsi” Makeleni. We are going to start our opening edition of the show in Bulawayo in May,” he said.

He said that so far more than 30 people have signed up to perform at the inaugural edition.

“After Bulawayo, we head to Gweru and Kwekwe, then we spread our wings to other provinces. We will have the second round where the lucky top 20 winners will go for a training camp in Harare,” he said.

Tinago said the main reason for hosting the boot camp was to teach artists about life, the showbiz industry.

“I believe the Unique Talent Show Zimbabwe is going to have a positive impact on talented young people, but does not have platforms to showcase it,” he said.

“I’m also optimistic that the show will bring change not just to young people, but to communities as a whole, in our effort to uplift young people who are talented, but who lack visibility.”

He said the show was going to air on their unique talent Facebook and instagram pages and hopes were high of getting a spot on national television ZBC-TV.
